RTS seeks new qualities from quantitative processes. It seeks to support technical systems such that they become open to scrutiny and supportive of curiosity. RTS's free form activities are structured through RTS.RESEARCH for academic, publication and instructional purposes. RTS and RTS.RESEARCH promote in theory and practice diversity in machine culture and innovation in mixed methods research methodology.

RTS.RESEARCH performs its activities on the edges of accepted scholarly-engineering practices. It investigates areas the engineering fields do not 'see' and the humanities can not 'touch'. It identifies and invents problems not necessarily recognized as such and devises objects, systems and situations by which to explore them.
